Long Valley NJ Man Admits Sexually Assaulting Child
A man from Long Valley NJ man will be spending time behind bars in New Jersey State Prison after he pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect was 27 years old when he first encountered the underage victim at a Pennsylvania church. The suspect allegedly held himself out as a father figure to the 15-year-old girl and convinced her to have sex with him.
Prosecutors in the case said that the juvenile victim was a virgin when the suspect sexually assaulted her.
The suspect eventually reached a plea agreement with Morris County prosecutors and agreed to plead guilty to criminal charges for sexual assault. The plea deal called for the suspect to be sentenced to a term of incarceration of seven years in New Jersey State Prison.
Moreover, the suspect will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law after he completes his prison sentence and is released.
Additionally, since this case involved the assault of a juvenile victim, it is also possible that the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P, formerly known as DYFS) will investigate. If the suspect has any children of his own, his custody rights could be in jeopardy.
